As mining operations expand, many Aboriginal communities are being pushed off their ancestral lands. Stripped of their home and dignity, some have become displaced, others exploited—trapped in a cycle of poverty and loss.
But not all is lost.
The Miriwoong people are rising to defend what remains. Against all odds, they are fighting to save their language, their stories, and their way of life. Through language schools, cultural programs, and a fierce love for the land, the last fluent speakers of Miriwoong are passing on their knowledge to the next generation.
