Vancouver Ultimate 45-mile bike tour โ a full day cycling every major waterfront path, park loop, and neighborhood in Vancouver, British Columbia. The route starts at Canada Place, circles the entire Stanley Park Seawall, crosses the Lions Gate Bridge, winds through Gastown and Chinatown, explores Granville Island and Kitsilano, and follows the False Creek Seawall back downtown. The Vancouver Seawall is the longest uninterrupted waterfront path in the world โ 28 kilometers of paved shoreline from Canada Place around Stanley Park, along English Bay and False Creek, to Kitsilano Beach. The Stanley Park Seawall was built between 1917 and 1980. Scottish master stonemason James Cunningham spent 32 years on the project, from 1931 until his retirement in 1963. Stanley Park covers more than 1,000 acres and was named the best park in the world by TripAdvisor in 2014. The land is the unceded traditional territory of the Musqueam, Squamish, and Tsleil-Waututh peoples. The Lions Gate Bridge, crossed at 2:34:46, is a 1938 suspension bridge connecting downtown Vancouver to the North Shore. Cyclists on the Seawall travel counter-clockwise.
