A different side of Barcelona after dark, this walk stays entirely along the Barceloneta seafront — the 18th-century fishermen's quarter that became the city's main beachfront. Sant Sebastià is the longest beach in Barcelona at 1,100 meters, and Port Vell, the city's oldest port, was transformed into a modern waterfront ahead of the 1992 Olympic Games.

🌊 ABOUT BARCELONETA
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
Barceloneta was built in 1754 for fishermen and residents displaced from the Ribera neighborhood during the construction of the Ciutadella fortress. The triangular peninsula is bordered by the Mediterranean Sea, Port Vell, and the El Born district, with a grid of narrow streets that still feel distinctly maritime. Sant Sebastià Beach, used by Barcelona's elite in the 19th century, became the first beach in the city to allow mixed bathing. The entire waterfront was transformed for the 1992 Barcelona Olympics, opening up kilometers of beach and promenade that had previously been industrial.
