Valgard: Realm of the Vikings officially opened at Paultons Park on 16th May 2026. This £12 million Viking-themed land introduces major new thrill rides, family attractions, themed dining and detailed Norse mythology storytelling.
At the centre of Valgard stands Drakon, Paultons Park’s first ever inverting roller coaster manufactured by Gerstlauer as a custom Euro-Fighter. Drakon features a vertical lift hill, beyond vertical first drop and two inversions.
Alongside Drakon is Raven, the reborn family thrill coaster formerly known as Cobra. Originally opening in 2006, Cobra has been extensively rethemed and transformed into Raven, a Viking-themed Gerstlauer bobsled coaster.
Vild Swing introduces the UK’s first ART Engineering Wild Swing to Paultons Park. Standing 12 metres tall, this unique family thrill ride uses a free-swinging gondola with airtime and gravity-defying Viking thrills.
For younger adventurers, The Orchard Playground provides a large Viking-themed play area featuring the Viking Lookout Tower, Golden Apple Tree, climbing structures, slides, swings and hidden exploration routes.
The impressive Nordic Feasting Hall serves as Valgard’s major themed dining destination, offering flame-grilled meals, fried favourites, desserts, milkshakes, pancakes and family dining in a highly themed Viking setting.
Valgard was developed on land previously occupied by Dragon Roundabout and Magma, alongside substantial open space. Magma was relocated to Crealy Theme Park as Pirates Plummet, while Dragon Roundabout was removed entirely. Cobra was transformed into Raven as part of the project. The former Go Karts were also removed for wider future development, although that area remains separate from Valgard itself.
Paultons Park, located in Hampshire’s New Forest, first opened in 1983 and has evolved into one of the UK’s leading family theme parks.
The park is internationally recognised for Peppa Pig World, the world’s first dedicated Peppa Pig themed land, which opened in 2011 and helped establish Paultons Park as a major family destination.
Other major lands include Lost Kingdom, home to Velociraptor, Flight of the Pterosaur, Splash Lagoon, Dino Chase, Boulder Dash and Dinosaur Tour Co.; Tornado Springs, featuring Storm Chaser, Cyclonator, Buffalo Falls, Windmill Towers, Farmyard Flyer and Al’s Auto Academy; Critter Creek; and Ghostly Manor, the innovative interactive haunted dark ride that opened in 2025.
Paultons Park continues its long-term expansion beyond Valgard, with its first on-site hotel and lodges currently under development, plus a major new water ride planned for 2027.

[4K] Alton Towers Chocolate Room Tour, join us as we take a look inside the themed Chocolate Room at the Alton Towers Hotel, exploring one of the resorts most unique themed hotel suites with its cadbury chocolate theme, hidden puzzles, and double rooms.
The Cadbury Chocolate Room is one of the signature themed suites at the Alton Towers Hotel. Designed to resemble a Cadbury chocolate factory, the room is decorated in the brands famous purple colours with factory pipework, pressure gauges, cocoa sacks, and themed machinery creating the feeling of stepping inside a chocolate production line.
Throughout Chocolate Room room, guests can search for hidden Cadbury chocolate bars and solve clues to unlock a secret safe containing even more chocolate treats.
Located on the third floor of the Alton Towers Hotel, the suite sleeps up to six guests and is approximately twice the size of a standard hotel room. The accommodation is divided into separate sleeping areas with a double bed, themed bunk beds, a sofa bed, and a comfortable seating area, making it ideal for families.
Guests also have access to complimentary WiFi, tea and coffee making facilities, a mini fridge with complimentary bottled water, complimentary toiletries, a hairdryer, and breakfast is included as part of an overnight stay.
The Alton Towers Hotel opened in 1996 as the resorts first on-site hotel, allowing guests to extend their visit beyond the theme park. The hotel features a range of themed rooms, family accommodation, restaurants, bars, evening entertainment, and direct access to the wider resort, making it a popular choice for short breaks throughout the year.
Alongside the Alton Towers Hotel, the resort also includes Splash Landings Hotel, the CBeebies Land Hotel, the Enchanted Village with Woodland Lodges and Luxury Treehouses, and the Stargazing Pods. T

Mutiny Bay opened in 2008, transforming the former Merrie England into a pirate themed family area filled with adventure, interactive attractions, and themed experiences. Located in the centre of Alton Towers Resort, the area combines family rides, water attractions, dining, and the SEA LIFE aquarium, making it one of the parks most popular family destinations.
Battle Galleons invites rival pirate crews to soak one another aboard interactive boats, although for the 2026 season the water cannons were replaced with smoke effects. Heave Ho provides a gentle pirate ship ride for younger guests, while Marauders Mayhem reimagines the parks classic teacups as spinning gunpowder barrels.
Overlooking the area is Wicker Man, the wooden rollercoaster that opened in 2018. The ride tells the story of the mysterious Beornen and has become closely linked with Mutiny Bay through both its location and the nearby Welcome Inn, which continues the coasters theme.
Sharkbait Reef by SEA LIFE opened in 2009 on the former site of the 3D Cinema and features more than one million litres of water filled with sharks, rays, seahorses, tropical fish, and other marine life. The attraction includes interactive touch pools and a 10-metre underwater tunnel, offering a completely different experience alongside the rides of Mutiny Bay.

Gullivers Land opened in 1999 in Milton Keynes and was the third theme park developed by the Gullivers Theme Park Resorts group. The park continues to expand with new attractions including The Wriggler, a colourful caterpillar themed Wacky Worm roller coaster manufactured by SBF Visa Group.
Across the park visitors can explore a range of themed areas including Western World, Lilliput Land, Safari Kingdom, and the JCB Zone which opened in 2017 in partnership with JCB..
Gullivers Land also forms part of a wider resort offering overnight stays at Adventurers Village, where themed accommodation includes Dino Dens, Wild West Lodges, JCB Cabins, Lost World Cabins, Beach Dens, and the Princess Suite overlooking the resort lake. The resort also features additional attractions including Splash Zone, Blast Arena, The SFEAR, and the Dinosaur and Farm Park, making it a popular destination for short breaks.
Gullivers Land is one of four parks operated by Gullivers Theme Park Resorts. The others include Gullivers World in Warrington, Gullivers Kingdom in Matlock Bath, and Gullivers Valley in South Yorkshire, which opened in 2020
Gullivers Land is located near to the Universal Studios UK Resort site, placing the park close to what is expected to become one of the UKs largest entertainment destinations

Located near Exeter, Crealy Theme Park & Resort is the largest theme park in Devon and features more than 60 rides and attractions including rollercoasters, water rides, indoor play areas and animal experiences. The park first opened in 1989 and is operated by Maximum Fun Devon Limited, attracting families from across Devon, Cornwall, Dorset and Somerset.
One of the most popular areas of the park is Sooty Land, based on the long running British television characters Sooty, Sweep and Soo. The land features Sooty’s Magic Bus, Sweep’s Flying Circus, Soo’s Sweet Balloon Ride and Izzy Wizzy Let’s Get Dizzy, alongside Sooty’s Big Top Showtime and an indoor pier building packed with themed attractions, games and dining.
Later in 2026 Crealy will introduce two major new rides to the park. Pirate’s Plummet, formerly Magma at Paultons Park, is being rethemed to fit the pirate area and will become the tallest ride in the South West once open. Rotor, a Zamperla Air Race attraction with a steampunk theme located next to Sooty’s Big Top Showtime, will add a brand new aerial ride experience to the park.

Disney Cascade of Lights premiered with the opening of Disney Adventure World on 29th March 2026 and is the parks signature nighttime spectacular. Performed on and above Adventure Bay, the show combines choreographed fountains, projection mapping, water screens, pyrotechnics, aerial drones and innovative aquatic drones to tell an uplifting story about courage, adventure and discovering the hero within.
Disney Cascade of Lights features memorable moments inspired by Disney, Pixar and Marvel stories, including characters from Moana, Hercules, Mulan, Zootopia, Up, Ratatouille, Finding Nemo, Frozen II, Toy Story, Encanto and the Marvel Cinematic Universe, accompanied by a specially recorded orchestral soundtrack and the original song We Can Be Heroes.
Disney Cascade of Lights takes place at the heart of Disney Adventure World, the reimagined second park at Disneyland Paris. Since March 2026 the park has expanded with the opening of World of Frozen, bringing the Kingdom of Arendelle to life with Frozen Ever After, Adventure Bay, themed dining, shopping and entertainment.
Disney Adventure World is the second theme park at Disneyland Paris in Chessy, France. Originally opening on 16th March 2002 as Walt Disney Studios Park, the park was reimagined and officially renamed Disney Adventure World on 15th May 2026 following a major multi-year transformation.
Disney Adventure World now brings together immersive worlds inspired by Disney, Pixar and Marvel, including World of Frozen, World of Pixar, Avengers Campus and Adventure Way surrounding the new Adventure Bay lake. Development continues with the future arrival of The Pride Lands, a new themed land inspired by Disneys The Lion King, making Disney Adventure World one of the largest expansions in Disneyland Paris history.
Disneyland Paris opened on 12th April 1992 and is Europes leading Disney resort, featuring Disneyland Park, Disney Adventure World, Disney Village and several Disney Hotels. With new attractions, entertainment and immersive lands continuing to open, the resort remains one of Europes premier destinations for Disney fans.

Madame Gazelle’s School House at Peppa Pig World in Paultons Park is a popular photo opputunity at hte Peppa Pig Theme Park. Guests enter Madame Gazelle’s School House and step into the classroom where they can meet Peppa Pig, George Pig, and Madame Gazelle, bringing the Peppa Pig television series to life inside Peppa Pig World.
Peppa Pig World continues to reflect updates from the Peppa Pig television series. Recent storylines include the arrival of Baby Evie, Peppa Pig’s younger sister, who joined the Pig family in May 2025. The series has also introduced an important storyline in which George Pig is diagnosed as moderately deaf and wears a hearing aid. George Pig now appears wearing his hearing aid during character meet and greets at Peppa Pig World, helping ensure that the Peppa Pig Theme Park reflects the current Peppa Pig series and supports positive representation.
Peppa Pig World opened in April 2011 and was the world’s first Peppa Pig Theme Park, officially known as Paultons Park, Home of Peppa Pig World. Peppa Pig World features nine themed rides including George’s Dinosaur Ride, Daddy Pig’s Car Ride, Peppa’s Big Balloon Ride, Grandpa Pig’s Little Train, Grandpa Pig’s Boat Trip, Grampy Rabbit’s Sailing Club, The Queen’s Flying Coach Ride, Miss Rabbit’s Helicopter Flight and Windy Castle Ride. Peppa Pig World also includes Peppa Pig’s House, Mr Potato’s Playground, George’s Spaceship Playzone and the world’s largest Peppa Pig Toy Shop.
Peppa Pig Theme Parks now operate internationally including Peppa Pig Theme Park Florida, Peppa Pig Park in Günzburg Germany and Peppa Pig Theme Park in Texas. While Peppa Pig Theme Park Florida includes attractions such as Daddy Pig’s Roller Coaster and Grandad Dog’s Pirate Boat Ride, it does not feature Madame Gazelle’s School House, instead offering a different experience with Madame Gazelle’s Nature Trail. This makes Madame Gazelle’s School House at Peppa Pig World in Paultons Park a unique Peppa Pig attraction.
Paultons Park continues to expand with Valgard Realm of the Vikings set to open in May 2026. This new Viking themed land will introduce major attractions including Drakon, Paultons Park’s first inverted roller coaster, alongside Raven and Vild Swing, further expanding Paultons Park beyond Peppa Pig World.

World of PAW Patrol is now open at Chessington World of Adventures, bringing Adventure Bay to the UK’s first and only PAW Patrol themed land. Chase, Marshall, Skye, Everest, Rubble, Rocky and Zuma are all part of the new World of PAW Patrol, turning this corner of Chessington into a full Adventure Bay experience for 2026.
World of PAW Patrol includes the four main rides, Chase’s Mountain Mission, Skye’s Helicopter Heroes, Marshall’s Firetruck Rescue and Zuma’s Hovercraft Adventure. Chase’s Mountain Mission brings a mountain rescue rollercoaster to Adventure Bay, with Chase and Everest helping save Mayor Goodway and Chickaletta. Skye’s Helicopter Heroes takes guests into the air aboard Skye’s helicopter, giving views across the new land. Marshall’s Firetruck Rescue sends guests through Adventure Bay in Marshall’s firetruck, while Zuma’s Hovercraft Adventure brings spinning hovercraft action to Seal Island on the UK’s first Drifter ride.
Rocky and Rubble’s Playzone adds a themed play area based around two of the most recognisable PAW Patrol pups. Rubble brings the construction, while Rocky adds his recycling.
The PAW Patrol Gift Shop adds to the Adventure Bay experience at Chessington, with PAW Patrol merchandise, PAW Patrol clothing, toys, plush, gifts, souvenirs and character items inspired by Chase, Marshall, Skye, Rubble, Rocky, Zuma, Everest and Liberty.
The Lookout Tower is based on the famous tower from the animated series. The tower is central to the PAW Patrol world, where Ryder and the pups prepare for rescue missions before heading out across Adventure Bay and includes the slide detail many PAW Patrol fans recognise from the show.
PAW Patrol first launched in 2013 and became one of the biggest animated TV franchises in the world. The series follows Ryder and the PAW Patrol pups as they protect Adventure Bay through rescue missions, teamwork, vehicles and problem solving. Chase is the police pup, Marshall is the fire pup, Skye is the flying pup, Rubble is the construction pup, Rocky is the recycling pup and Zuma is the water rescue pup.

Animal Treasure Island is the newest themed areas at Gardaland Resort, created around the Animal Treasure Island attraction. Introduced as part of Gardaland’s 50th anniversary celebrations, Animal Treasure Island was designed as more than just a ride. The entire area brings together attractions, dining, shopping and storytelling to create a complete pirate themed destination within Gardaland Park.
At the centre of the area is Animal Treasure Island, a major indoor water dark ride that opened in 2025. Replacing the former I Corsari attraction, Animal Treasure Island combines over 20 immersive scenes, detailed sets, advanced animatronics, custom hardware and 360 degree binaural audio technology.
The Animal Treasure Island ride follows Captain Nine Lives and her crew as they search for hidden treasure while facing Captain Blackbear and his bandits. Ports, jungles, caves and pirate settlements help bring the story to life.
The Animal Treasure Island area features Covo Burger dei Bucanieri serveing burgers, chicken burgers, gourmet burgers, wraps, vegan options, loaded cheddar and bacon chips, snacks and soft ice cream within a pirate themed quick service restaurant. Nearby, The Bandits Tavern offers a pirate themed dining experience with larger meals, desserts and themed surroundings inspired by the Animal Treasure Island storyline.
Guests can visit the Animal Treasure Island shop Tiny Tresures, where merchandise based on the attraction and its characters is available offering Animal Treasure Island souvenirs, clothing, collectables, gifts and themed merchandise inspired by Captain Nine Lives, Captain Blackbear and the wider Animal Treasure Island adventure.
Gardaland Resort is one of Europe’s most visited theme park resorts, located near Lake Garda in northern Italy. Since opening in 1975, Gardaland Park has grown to include roller coasters such as Raptor, Oblivion The Black Hole, Blue Tornado, Shaman and Mammut, alongside water rides including Fuga da Atlantide, Colorado Boat and Jungle Rapids. Major dark rides include Jumanji The Adventure and Animal Treasure Island

[4K] Flight of the Pterosaur Behind the Scenes Tour at Paultons Park, join us for an exclusive backstage experience inside Lost Kingdom during the Paultons Park Super Fans Event as we explore restricted areas of Flight of the Pterosaur.
Step onto the coaster platform, visit the operator control booth, walk through normally inaccessible track areas and get up close to the prehistoric theming, dinosaurs and ride infrastructure of one of Paultons Park’s most popular family roller coasters.
This exclusive behind the scenes tour of Flight of the Pterosaur was one of several special experiences available during the Paultons Park Super Fans Event. Guests taking part were given rare access behind the scenes of the coaster, including maintenance access areas, the operator control booth, station platform and restricted sections beneath the track that are normally closed to the public.
The tour also allowed guests to walk directly into trackside areas within Lost Kingdom, offering close-up views of the coaster structure, suspended track, themed rockwork, landscaping and dinosaur figures positioned throughout the attraction area.
Flight of the Pterosaur officially opened on 17th May 2016 as one of the headline attractions of Lost Kingdom, Paultons Park’s major dinosaur-themed expansion. Manufactured by Vekoma, Flight of the Pterosaur is a suspended family roller coaster featuring approximately 395 metres of track, speeds exceeding 30mph and a layout designed to simulate flying through prehistoric terrain.
Lost Kingdom transformed a large section of Paultons Park in 2016. Alongside Flight of the Pterosaur, the area also features Velociraptor, Dino Chase, Splash Lagoon, Boulder Dash, Dinosaur Tour Co., Alive! dinosaur encounters and The Little Explorers playground.
Lost Kingdom sits directly beside Valgard: Realm of the Vikings, Paultons Park’s huge Viking-themed expansion opened in 2026. Valgard introduced several major attractions including Drakon, the park’s first ever inverting roller coaster, Raven, the rethemed former Cobra coaster, and Vild Swing, the UK’s first ART Engineering Wild Swing. The area also includes The Orchard Playground and the Nordic Feasting Hall restaurant.

During the Paultons Park Super Fans Event, the park also officially announced Serpent’s Curse, the UK’s first ever water coaster opening in 2027 as part of a major Valgard expansion. Manufactured by MACK Rides, Serpent’s Curse will be built on the former Go Karts site and will feature water coaster sections, sweeping turns and a major splash finale, further expanding Valgard: Realm of the Vikings.
Paultons Park, located in Hampshire’s New Forest, is home to over 70 rides and attractions including Peppa Pig World, Tornado Springs, Critter Creek, Ghostly Manor, Lost Kingdom and Valgard: Realm of the Vikings.
The Flight of the Pterosaur Behind the Scenes Tour gave guests at the Paultons Park Super Fans Event a rare opportunity to experience one of the park’s most popular coasters from a completely different perspective, offering exclusive access to backstage areas and an up-close look at the prehistoric world of Lost Kingdom.
