Oblivion The Black Hole at Gardaland, join us for a front row ride on Italy's first Dive Coaster as Oblivion The Black Hole hangs over the edge before plunging vertically into the mysterious Black Hole at Gardaland Resort near Lake Garda.

Opened in 2015 and manufactured by Swiss roller coaster company Bolliger & Mabillard (B&M), Oblivion The Black Hole became the first Dive Coaster in Italy. Standing 43 metres tall and reaching speeds of up to 100 km/h, Oblivion The Black Hole was inspired by the original Oblivion at Alton Towers in the United Kingdom, making the two attractions sister roller coasters within the Merlin Entertainments family.

The story behind Oblivion The Black Hole centres around a mysterious space time conduit connecting Earth with another dimension. As the train climbs the lift hill, riders approach the edge before stopping on a holding brake, suspended over the vertical drop with nothing but the track disappearing into the darkness below. After several suspense filled seconds, the train is released into a 90 degree vertical plunge through the Black Hole tunnel before racing through an Immelmann inversion, an airtime hill, a sweeping 270 degree helix and a heartline roll before returning to the station.

The queue for Oblivion The Black Hole was originally designed to immerse guests in the attraction's mysterious storyline, featuring themed lighting, graphics and scientific imagery exploring the Black Hole concept before guests entered the station. Although parts of the original themed walkthrough are no longer in use, much of the distinctive station theming remains an important part of the attraction.

Oblivion The Black Hole is located alongside Wolf Legend, Flying Island and Blue Tornado, making this one of the most exciting sections of Gardaland Park. Nearby attractions also include Fuga da Atlantide, Colorado Boat, Jungle Rapids, Shaman, Mammut, Raptor, Animal Treasure Island and Jumanji The Adventure, giving visitors a huge variety of roller coasters, water rides and dark rides throughout Gardaland Resort.

Gardaland Resort opened in 1975 and has grown into one of Europe's most visited theme park resorts. Alongside Gardaland Park, the resort includes LEGOLAND Water Park Gardaland, the first LEGOLAND Water Park in Europe, Gardaland SEA LIFE Aquarium and three themed hotels: Gardaland Hotel, Gardaland Adventure Hotel and Gardaland Magic Hotel, creating a complete theme park destination on the shores of Lake Garda in northern Italy.
