So, I always get stressed out at Valentine's Day. Flowers and chocolates seems to be sort of the lazy way out (no offense to you guys who take that route - it's the thought that counts.) So I wanted to do something different. I booked a little cottage in the tiny town of Downieville, Califronia. It's in the Gold Country, about an hour north of Grass Valley. Not much there, but it's a very cute little town. Very quaint, very charming. And I think a little bit romantic. My wife was initially a little bit "Eh...", but I think she warmed up. We spent three days in the area, and we also drove up Highway 49 to Sierra City and spent a lot of time there. Anyway, here is a little video I put together of our time around Downieville.
