A complete start to finish build including a few bugs to overcome.
Surprisingly the new 101LCD had some kind of grease on the contacts which needed to be cleaned off before it worked properly. I haven't seen this before but it was a good example of something that could go wrong.
After it was all assembled, I found out this GBC motherboard had no sound! A quick replacement of the old speaker with a new aftermarket louder speaker fixed that right up.
This Yellow reproduction shell wasn't quite like the other reproductions. It was thinner towards the middle which made milling it down to where I normally would a bit tricky. The consequence is the two shell halves not closing as tight as they usually would, but still a very sturdy feel and given the extra thickness, stronger.
Hopefully this answers some of the questions I've received regarding the 3d screw posts, and the new LED ribbon. The LED does need to be soldered which some may find tricky. The LED is optional. Don't forget to insulate the ribbon components from the metal shield of the rear case halve.
