A New Era: Transition to Toon Boom Harmony Minty Root 2018-02-16 | I have worked with Adobe Flash since 2008, it's almost ten years of work with the same software. Unfortunately, Flash hardly improved over those years and is still a very clunky and awkward software to work with.At the recommendation of Pikapetey, Tiarawhy and Duo Cartoonist, I decided to learn Toon Boom Harmony and make my own rigs in it. I present you Selene, a set of animation rigs for an upcoming Sunset Shimmer fan animated project currently in the works.Those rigs are not based on the bases from Dinky's Destiny I have been using until Luna's Determination.Personally, I recommend Toon Boom Harmony. It's a very powerful piece of software that offers some very welcome features that Flash lacks. It also has hardware acceleration and compositing tools to help to make much more impressive projects. Cancelled project: Discord, the animated PMV Minty Root 2018-01-12 | So it came to the surprise of many people, but the Star Swirl rig that was used in Luna's Determination was originally meant for an animated PMV based on Discord, the song by Odyssey Eurobeat. I wanted to go against the fan theory that Discord was Star Swirl, and instead wanted to tell a story where Discord was Star Swirl's creation instead.While the project never got produced, I sat in front of an unfinished animatic for a long long time, so I decided to finally publicly release the video for you to see.There's lots of unfinished elements and the art itself isn't impressive at all, but I think you should have a good idea of the scenes.The project was never finished due to an art block. Overture to Season 6 [4K upscale] Minty Root 2017-01-15 | [Originally uploaded here youtube.com/watch?v=7b6PZy6_EMY on February 1st 2016]I recently got a GTX 1050 graphics card after my GTX 745 died, so I decided to experiment with CUDA and Waifu2X upscale on a previous video of mine to try to get it in 4K. Some elements changed from the previous animatic, but this is the current direction the project has.You can think of it like what Dinky's Destiny was supposed to be, but with a few subplots removed and focused a lot more on Luna than Dinky.I hope it's not too hard to follow for non-animators since a few of the drawings are very rough as I had to redraw them constantly. Just trying to fit the tone of the song with the events really was a challenge and I had to cut many scenes I wanted to do.
