UT San Antonio announced they will be delaying the start of fall classes after an attempted cybersecurity hack. On Tuesday, UTSA said fall classes will begin on Monday, August 24, three days later than originally scheduled.

"We are making this decision to ensure the university systems, technology and services our students, faculty and staff rely upon are operating optimally as we begin the semester. Starting classes on Monday gives our teams the necessary time to restore services carefully and position our university community for a strong start."

The university said on Monday they responded to attempted unauthorized activity against university technology systems that was identified over the weekend and impacted their academic campus.

The breach was detected before before it reached core systems and University Technology Solutions (UTS).
