The previous batteries in this electric corkscrew had exploded rendering it useless. To fix, I started by using a digital multimeter to ensure the AA batteries were reading at 1.5 volts. Next, I used a bristle brush and some terminal cleaner to clean the top contacts. Finally I repeated the cleaning process with white vinegar to neutralize the battery acid inside the battery compartment.
