This video shows how to use the Plastic Tool to add more flexibility to your cut-out character for puppet animation in OpenToonz. To animate the character itself, to animate secondary parts of your character (hats, eyebrows, moustaches, etc) and to enable seamless joins between parts of your character, all without drawing additional frame by frame drawings.
Previously, I covered the basics to create a simple, 2-part, character and a more complex skeleton character and then connected it using hook points. The playlist to all of these is here: youtube.com/watch?v=wIc3Ocag8s4&index=2&list=PL-kyUCiIIVS7oJpX051UIrQu8cwe-n8X3
I try to speed through my explanations as quickly as I can, speeding up the drawing where necessary, so you're not just watching me draw, but there's a lot to get through and I try to give out as many tips as possible along the way, but if you want to skip through the video, here's the list of topics I cover.
Contents:
00:00 Introduction
00:32 Previous cut-out tutorial refresher
01:25 1. Animate internal parts of your character (breathing)
04:51 2. Animate external parts of your character (moustache)
05:44 3. Animate body part joins, to create clearer joins (arm joints when lifting a weight)
07:32 Final animation
08:01 Multiple drawings problem, to be fixed next week
