Circulating Tumor Cells (CTCs) are rare, over-proliferating, and malignant cells that originate from a primary tumor site, enter the bloodstream, and have the potential to migrate to other tissues, where they can initiate secondary tumor sites. Current challenges focus on identifying these cells in patients' blood, enabling cancer detection and diagnosis. Here, we describe new techniques based on acoustic waves to sort and detect these cells in blood samples.
