In this video I look at how to get neatly bent or preformed axial component leads ready for insertion into printed circuit boards. This could be the answer to building much neater and better circuit boards.
If you struggle getting the right spacing for bends on leaded electronic components for insertion into PCBs this could be very useful.
I came across a dirt cheap tool that can be obtained to enable you to get the right spacing and neat bends in the leads every time.
This simple plastic tool enables you to select the right spacing - you can get this from the holes in the PCB, and then place the electronic component in the right slot and simply bend the leads round - simple!
These tools can be obtained from a variety of places on the Internet as well as some of the larger recognised electronic component distributors. I've seen them described as Electronic Component Lead Bender Bending Preforming Tool - a bit of a mouthful to pronounce, but a search on this string will bring the sources up.
