In this video I show you how easy to obtain ferrite rings can help solve your power line interference problems.

It's amazing how much interference is carried over the power lines in our houses and offices. Sometimes it doesn't matter, but other times it can give rise to interference on radios, televisions and the like.

It's often possible to reduce or eliminate the interference using a simple clip on ferrite core ring like these in this set - they're available from a variety of outlets on the Internet.

They consist of a ferrite core split in two so that when they are clipped over a wire the two halves on the ring fit tightly together to form a complete magnetic ring. This adds inductance to the wire to attenuate the unwanted interference.

It's best to remove the interference at source if possible, like on this coffee machine where the grinder creates interference that breaks up the signal for my over the air TV reception.

It can also help to add a ferrite to the receiver end and I added a ferrite to the power cable on my antenna amplifier splitter.

So if you have an area where there is interference, these clip on ferrite rings may just help solve your problem.
