One of my Videos for our family and friends showing our 1989 visit to California the Same day as the terrible San Francisco earthquake. This was the first time I had got to a place that I had wanted to visit since I had been a Teenager in the sixties spending long weekends in Cornwall. We landed in LA. but then drove down to San Diego. From there we went to Old Tucson and visited the High Chaparral film set along with other location used in films like Rio Bravo, Rio Lobo, El Dorado and later Tombstone. We also went to the town of Tombstone to see the OK Corral and Boot Hill.
Moving back into the Twentieth Century we stopped off Air Force facility Missile site number 8 and the popped into Edwards Airforce base (not allowed to film there). Then it was up to San Francisco arriving on Halloween Night we were surprised to see how hard the city's residence were trying to please what must have been some very traumatised children. Although it was now some two week since the earthquake you could still feel the tension and the huge amount of building damage. Then we drove back to LA and had fun playing on the fantastic beaches along the way.
