The More We Know | U.S. First Lady Michelle Obama Tours China's Terracotta Warriors @TheMoreWeKnow | Uploaded March 2014 | Updated October 2024, 35 minutes ago.
U.S. First Lady Michelle Obama visited on Monday (March 24) the western Chinese historic city of Xi'an.
Accompanied by her daughters Sasha and Malia, Obama toured the Terracotta Warriors and attended a welcome ceremony at the City Wall, joining folk dances and skipping the rope with children, to the delight of her hosts.
Earlier on Saturday (March 22), Obama told an audience of college students in Beijing that open access to information - especially online - was a universal right.
But Obama stopped short of calling on China to offer its citizens greater freedoms on a visit in which she is expected to steer clear of more complicated political issues, but rather try to build goodwill through soft diplomacy.
Obama is set to leave China on Wednesday (March 26).
