Madras High Court cancels TN Govts job order for 41 Karur stampede victims families — full breakdown of Article 14, Article 16 vs Executive Power (Article 162) that decided this case.
CM Vijays TVK-led government had issued a Government Order granting one government job per family to the 41 victims of the Karur rally stampede. A PIL by Advocate Theeran Thirumurugan challenged its legality — and in a reversal of its own earlier interim order, the Madras High Courts Division Bench (Justices C V Karthikeyan and R Sakthivel) struck the order down as unconstitutional.
