Dr. Anuj Agnihotri topped UPSC CSE 2025 with 1071 marks in his third attempt — an MBBS graduate from AIIMS Jodhpur who scored 292 out of 500 in Medical Science optional. Here he sits with Dr. Mrunal Patel and goes subject by subject through what he actually read, how he studied it, and why it worked.
WHAT STANDS OUT
- He built his own GS Paper 2 material by hand — clubbing Governance, Social Justice and Society, then sorting everything by theme: women, disability, age groups, gender.
- One newspaper, six years, 60-80 minutes a day. No monthly magazines, no compilations, and no separate newspaper notes at all.
- For National Parks he sat with Wikipedia for fifteen minutes per park, because questions now describe the vegetation and wildlife and ask you to name it.
- Ethics began with the syllabus itself — around 100 keywords, each given a short definition, a long one, and examples from his own life.
- He walked into the Essay paper with conclusions already written, because he knew he ran short on time in the second essay.
