Updates from ground-based detectors: Observation Run O3 results and upgrade plans

M. Tacca on behalf of the LIGO and Virgo Collaborations

The two Advanced LIGO detectors and Advanced Virgo acquired scientific data for almost 11 months, starting from April 2019 during the Observation Run 3 (O3). In this talk a summary of the performances and an overview of the main results, published so far, obtained during O3 will be given. Moreover, the main upgrades foreseen both in LIGO and in Virgo to improve the sensitivity will be described.
