Before we embark on our authentication epic, we check for updates to the Rails gem. A new patch-level version is out, so we upgrade from 7.0.3.1 to 7.0.4.
If we wanted to be extra cautious, we could run bundle install with the new version, but since we're early on in the development process we will run a bundle update.
