Stateless Code | Professional Level Performance of 4'33" by John Cage @StatelessCode | Uploaded January 2023 | Updated October 2024, 2 hours ago.
Song: 4'33"
Composer: John Cage
Year: 1952

At the end of our retrospectives and other special episodes, we like to close things out by singing a song. Usually the segment is called Mediocre Karaoke, but this performance is professional level.

This performance is unquestionably the best musical performance that will ever be published on the Stateless Code channel.

Will Ferrell impersonating James Lipton might say that this sublime performance transcends mediocrity to achieve a level of sublime scrumtrulescence heretofore unknown in the history of civilization.

The idea came when I did Stateless Code episode 204. In the world of HTTP response status codes, 204 means "no content". You would typically return this value in response to a PATCH request where you are updating values on a single record. So we made an episode with no content. There is no composition in the history of music that is more fitting to pair with a no content episode than 4'33" by John Cage
