You need a contingency plan. The crazies could come for you at any minute. A random Act of Government could make what you do today illegal tomorrow. Your company could eliminate your entire department, downsize, or go under. A disruptive, heroic innovator could make an amazing breakthrough rendering your current job obsolete.
