Abstract: Shiny is more than just an R-Tool. It is a framework that transcends the borders of R. In this talk, I want to share a success story of how Shiny has helped me dive into new technologies:

I've recently started a job at an IT company with a focus on AI. To immerse myself into the world of AI and Python, I had to start somewhere. And it turns out that the Shiny framework was a great place to start. Shiny for Python is so similar to R-Shiny that it was nearly effortless to understand how to create an app in Py-Shiny. After that it was only a matter of getting a few code chunks from hugging face and sticking it into the app. That's how I was quickly able to build a web app with Python that uses some of the "hot AI stuff". Getting such a quick result wouldn't have possible had I not known Shiny from R before.
