150s on German Volume bench (8x8) with feet up. No leg drive—just pure upper body control, stability, and strength under fatigue.

This setup exposes weak points fast. Upper back, trunk, and scapular control all have to work to keep the bar path consistent. Once fatigue sets in, most lifters lose position—that’s where injuries and stalled progress start. Fix it here, and your competition bench moves.

Running 8x8 instead of 10x10 keeps the volume high while maintaining quality reps. You get the hypertrophy and work capacity benefits without completely breaking down technically. The goal is to stay tight, control the descent, and maintain position through every rep.

If you’re shaking, that’s the point. Build stability and control under fatigue, not just max numbers.

This is how we train to stay strong, durable, and progressing long-term.
