This probably won’t become an annual thing, but 2017 was definitely A Year in terms of editing—I uploaded 11 videos (9 of them within 4 months) and I’m working on another two, and I had even more WIPs from this summer (even some that didn’t make it into here; see later in description), which is fucking RIDICULOUS considering in 2016 I think I made a grand total of 6.

SO: here are some things that didn’t make it out of SV that I figured were worth sharing.

(0:00) #1: FMA:B - A Demon’s Fate (remake)

(A heads up: this version is a mixed bag of properly edited bits and then just areas where I placed a clip and didn’t actually do anything to it yet? So it flip-flops a little haha. The beauty of WIPs.)
I actually started this in like, July 2016 or something? And then lost inspiration and kept coming back to it over the last year and a half and I could never bring myself to finish it? However I really like what I’ve done so far here and I figured it’s been long enough, I’m never gonna finish this, let’s finally share it.
I think I might actually do a full version of this remake at some point, but my editing style’s changed since I made this so I’ll probably just start over (and like, rewatch FMA:B probably so I can actually remember what clips to use lmao).


(3:00) #2: Firefly - Comes & Goes
Firefly!! I finally watched Firefly in May and was really excited about making this video, but then something happened with the episodes I downloaded and then looked really weird and choppy in Vegas (you can see it in parts of this preview), so I gave up. Maybe one day I’ll try again.


(3:23) #3: Merlin - Kings
Merlin is IMPOSSIBLE TO COLOUR, let alone for an amateur like me who doesn’t know how the hell to make a decent colouring. Also, I have no idea how to edit Merlin to action songs. I’ll stick to Merthur.


(3:50) #4: Captain Flint - A Rush of Blood to the Head
GOD! OKAY! This song is literally perfect for Flint and I need somebody who’s good at these types of videos to make this, because I cannot do it. I tried, as you can see, but it’s Not Great (it probably could’ve been had I had the patience to properly plan it, but alas, I am lazy). It sits here as an open request to anybody who’s up for it to make this because I NEED IT TO EXIST.


(5:01) #5: FMA:B - Youth
I’m actually currently working on this one!! I started this with the intention of submitting it to the Sakuracon AMV contest, because I’m curious and I want to see if I can actually become a finalist? Idk what kind of editing they’re looking for, but I think it’s worth a shot.
However, it /is/ one of three videos I’m working on at the moment, and I go back to school on January 8th, so just in case I don’t get to finish it, here’s a bit of it because I’m hella proud of this section.

IF I DON’T FINISH THIS BEFORE I GO BACK TO SCHOOL, PLEASE FEEL FREE TO GO INTO MY TUMBLR INBOX AND SCREAM AT ME.
I started this like? A day or two ago? Because it occurred to me that I’ve been editing since 2009 and I’ve never made a video with this song. The mashup version, sure, but never the actual song, Radioactive by Imagine Dragons from the album Night Visions (2012).
Plus, Voltron is currently the only thing that occupies my thoughts besides sleeping and eating.
So.
Voila.
Also this intro is possibly my favourite thing I’ve ever done, especially audio-wise? I made an actual intro!!!!!!! And it looks and sounds /really good/. What!!!!!!! Who am I!!!!!!!!!!! Imposter!!!!!!!

However, since this is also one of my three WIPs (Cosmic Love is definitely happening, by the way, if nothing else) there’s always a chance I won’t get to finish it before reading week, so here’s the beginning. Please don’t let me get lazy with this, people. YOU ARE THE UNIVERSE’S ONLY HOPE.


Honourable mention: The Get Down - Glitter & Gold
THE GET DOWN. Gah. So good. I started making a video with it back in May after I’d first watched it, and then lost inspiration for it, but I really really liked what I’d done? But when I tried to render it today the project kept CRASHING FOR LITERALLY NO REASON, so Vegas clearly didn’t think the same. FINE then, VEGAS. BE that way. I don’t NEED YOU.
