After months of confusion, the UK Government has finally confirmed that approved plug-in solar systems will become legal from 27 August 2026.

However, there’s one important detail that many people have missed…

The new rules apply to plug-in solar only and specifically exclude plug-in battery systems and plug-in solar systems with integrated batteries.
