How do you heat your hot water without gas?
In this video I take you through my real-world hot water system after almost four years of living with it.
I’ll explain:
* Why I chose electric hot water
* My 250L immersion cylinder
* How I use the MyEnergi Eddi
* Why my strategy changed after installing solar and batteries
* My cheap-rate overnight heating schedule
* The surprising impact of long pipe runs
* Why I’m now looking at technologies like Mixergy and Sunamp
This isn’t a review of any particular product. It’s simply what I’ve learnt from living with this system day after day, and why I think there’s still room for improvement.

If this was your house, what would you do?
Remember:
* I can’t move the cylinder.
* I can’t shorten the pipe runs.
* Heating the water isn’t really the problem.
