Marking 20 years of UCSF service, Amy Van Cleve has worked effectively in every role at Art for Recovery as a volunteer, artist-in-residence, program manager and, now, director. Amy is the driving force to make Art for Recovery available to all Bay Area cancer patients and beyond, giving patients the outlet to continue their healing journey through music, performance, an art show and writing.
“Art has a way of enhancing the patients’ healing process,” she said in receiving the 2024 Chancellor Award for Exceptional University Service.
The UCSF Founder’s Day Awards celebrate the outstanding service of faculty, staff and learners to the University and to our community in fulfillment of our mission of advancing health worldwide.
