Carina Marquez, MD, MPH, has dedicated her career to bridging community and clinic, inspired by her own family’s experiences navigating barriers to health care. Through trusted partnerships and language-concordant care, she has helped expand access to testing, vaccines, and preventive services for communities across San Francisco.

Carina is the recipient of the 2026 Chancellor Award for Public Service.

The UCSF Chancellor Distinguished Service Awards celebrate the outstanding service of faculty, staff, and learners to the university and the UCSF community in fulfillment of our mission of advancing health worldwide.
