On June 19, 2026, a twin-engine Cessna 421 crashed on approach to La Baule, on the western coast of France, killing both people on board. French media report that one of them was Claude Guillemot, 69, a cofounder of Ubisoft and the owner of the aircraft. A flight instructor from Rennes was also on board. Who was flying, and what brought the plane down, has not been confirmed. French authorities have opened a judicial inquiry.
