A tragic aircraft accident near Minneapolis is now under investigation after a Beechcraft Bonanza crashed shortly after departure from Crystal Airport.

Authorities have confirmed two fatalities, including a North Dakota state representative, while the identity of the pilot is still being formally verified. The aircraft came down in a residential park area and caught fire, though no one on the ground was injured.

The NTSB is on scene and working to determine what led to the crash.
