Typhoon Gaemi has caused devastation across Taiwan and the Philippines.

25 people have died and hundreds have been injured.

Most of them died in landslides and flooding, as the storm worsened monsoon rain.

Half a million people have already been displaced.

In the Philippines, locals are struggling with the spread of mud after heavy rain.

In several Taiwanese cities, including the capital, schools and government offices were closed.

Hundreds of domestic and international flights were cancelled.

Gusts of up to 141mph made it the strongest typhoon to hit the country in eight years.

Two ships have sunk off the coast, one of which was carrying 1.7 million litres of oil prompting fears of a major spill.

China has geared up its own preparations, as the typhoon barrels inland from Fujian province.
