On Demand News | Can Gen Z Propel Kamala Harris to Victory in the Presidential Race? @OnDemandNews | Uploaded July 2024 | Updated October 2024, 1 week ago.
After Joe Biden's withdrawal from the presidential race and his endorsement of Vice President Kamala Harris, Gen Z voters across the United States have taken to social media to share coconut tree and “brat summer” memes, signalling a shift in tone for a group that has increasingly felt left behind by the Democratic party.

Youth-led organisations had previously warned that Biden struggled to engage with young voters, urging the 81-year-old to collaborate more closely with them and refocus on the issues most important to younger Americans, or risk losing their support altogether. With Biden now out of the race, many young leaders hope Kamala Harris can overcome his waning support among Gen Z and ignite a new wave of energy and enthusiasm ahead of the pivotal November election.
