In this video Bunny is experimenting with planting styles.
In her new Rose Meadow, she is growing a wide selection of plants all positioned in a very informal, naturalistic style. Maintaining areas with a wide range of plants always requires more input as you have to restrain the thugs and coax the more timid. Left to its own devices it would probably revert to just two or three different plants quite quickly.
Contrastingly her second new planting area is restricted to Lavender planted in rows, alliums and a few specimen yew, tiny at the moment but growing on. The area is partially surrounded by low box and Holm oaks (Quercus Ilex) which she has clipped into large drums on trunks. This simple planting design is ideal for low maintenance areas though it still has a fair bit of impact.
