The Massachusetts Bay Railroad Enthusiasts sponsored a very unique excursion on the weekend of October 29th & 30th, 2016. Portions of the excursion would operated over the Providence & Worcester Railroad, Amtrak, and the Valley Railroad.
From Worcester, MA, the train is powered by P&W a GE B40-8W/B39-8 lash-up. The train operated from Groton, CT to Old Saybrook, CT over the Amtrak's North East Corridor. In Old Saybrook, the train would be handed off to the Valley Railroad's "New Haven" 3025, a 2-8-2 Mikado.
