Two deputies shot and killed a man Sunday during an investigation at the Super 8 on Lehigh Station Road in Henrietta, according to the Monroe County Sheriff's Office.

Chief Deputy Michael Fowler said deputies responded to the hotel just before 4 p.m. for a report of a suicidal man. Deputies found a man in his 60s armed with a box cutter. They gave him multiple commands to drop the box cutter, but he was uncooperative, resulting in two deputies firing their weapons and striking him. He was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity has not been released.
