In this incredible start-to-finish build, two men from @lesnoy_offline3431 take us deep into the forest to create a massive log house—completely by hand. With no modern machinery or prefab parts, they rely on traditional craftsmanship, natural materials, and serious determination.
The project begins by selecting the perfect forest location. The builders fell trees themselves, carefully choosing straight, thick logs for maximum strength. After debarking each one by hand, they begin constructing the foundation—using a clever combo of logs, stones, and a homemade mix of mud and cement for stability. Even the stone-hauling tool is handmade!

Next, they raise sill logs—massive horizontal beams that rest directly on the stone base. Using classic notching techniques like saddle and round notches, each log is interlocked with precision, forming the sturdy backbone of the house. Vertical support posts follow, perfectly aligned to hold up the structure and roof.

They build the log walls layer by layer, carefully notching each log for tight, secure joints. Openings for windows and doors are framed in as they go. A steep-pitched roof structure is added using angled rafters anchored to ridge beams, designed to handle snow, rain, and forest debris. The roof is insulated with sawdust and sealed with a foil-based barrier, topped with wooden battens to allow ventilation.

Inside, they suspend a sleeping loft above the main living area using thick support beams and floorboards. Every element is crafted with skill, from the bed platform to the chimney installation, which is sealed tight to prevent drafts. The stove area is surrounded with stone for heat insulation and visual appeal.

As the cabin nears completion, outdoor details are added: wooden posts, hand-built fences, and stone pathways. Vertical palisade fencing and log railings match the rustic design, and even the windows and doors are carefully sealed to prevent heat loss.

The final result? A breathtaking log cabin that blends perfectly into the forest. Built entirely by hand, it reflects not only traditional building wisdom but also the spirit of self-reliance, patience, and precision. This isn’t just a house—it’s a handmade sanctuary where every log tells a story.

Once the spot is locked in, wooden boards are cut and assembled into a sturdy rectangular mold to define the oven’s foundation. A plastic moisture barrier is laid inside, followed by a steel reinforcement mesh to strengthen the slab. Concrete is poured, spread evenly, and carefully leveled to create a flawless base — because when you’re building something this heavy, “almost level” just isn’t good enough. With the foundation cured, concrete blocks are stacked in staggered courses to form a solid stand. Each row is checked for alignment to prevent compounding errors. On top, a reinforced concrete slab is poured, creating a durable platform for the oven dome. The oven floor is mapped out using a full-scale circular template to ensure perfect symmetry.
