starlight promenade- from winter 2023, using the latter half of Starlight Promenade by Lchavasse, my favorite parts of my favorite song by him. Its intended to be decorated by Mels, whenever he gets around to it, but I'm showing it off in the meantime. Some parts of this are unsatisfying at the moment as I feel they don't fully express what I want expressed from this song, but thats kind of intentional to leave room for the deco to do that. I'm really happy with the cube/robot sections in the middle though (its mostly synced to the bass, which you may not hear if you dont have headphones on!). 2.2 broke some of the slope stuff so I tweaked a few things today to get it working again, that's the version you're seeing here
xinyi dist- from summer 2022, using Xinyi Dist(1010 Edit) by Cyte. This one is actually finished, in the sense that I always intended for it to have minimal decoration and be mostly barebones structuring. There's a couple things I'd do differently now but its still my proudest gameplay I think, it was a very enjoyable challenge to make things look messy on purpose at the drop/chorus and I think I pulled it off. I had never posted xinyi dist before because the artist of the song used here (not on newgrounds) asked me not to show it publicly for like copyright reasons or whatever when I asked them nicely if I could. But I realized I am caring wayyy too much about that when this song is almost a straight up fucking rip of another song without credit... liberal sampling is pretty much a given with this kind of thing, but I hadn't heard the original song at the time I asked (vocaloid version of Dramaturgy by Eve, btw) and did not understand that this was basically a nightcore with breaks added, generously a remix but definitely not a standalone original work. and I think its silly they felt they had the authority to tell me what I could do with this song when they apparently can't bother to even mention that this is an edit of an Eve song anywhere! So yeah, it annoys me when people do not cite their sources with this stuff if I feel they haven't been transformative enough to earn the right to call it their own work lol. But yeah anyway, I won't be uploading this in-game ever but here it is in video form. (also, I'd say I'm sorry for the low bitrate recording, but I kinda like it existing this way actually)
