Two Chicken hens (Gallus gallus var. domesticu) join a rooster scratching around in the shade near train tracks at Hermann Park, in Houston, TX, USA.

The rooster clucks softly as he searches for insects. When he finds a Beetle, he seems to signal to the hens, and they join him. He leaves to go to another spot when they arrive, and they scratch around in that area. When they are done there, they join him in another spot.

The Rooster appeared in the Park over the winter. I'm not sure when the Hens arrived. This was the first I'd seen them.
