We released two green sea turtles off Honeymoon Island yesterday! 🐢🌊
Hermes and Ladon stranded back in February during a local cold-stun event, when we received over 30 rescued sea turtles in the span of a week. Hermes was very debilitated and arrived with fibropapilloma tumors. The “paps” were successfully removed with a CO2 laser, and Hermes made a resilient recovery. Ladon also had a longer time in rehab, overcoming an infection with the help of antibiotic treatment. Both green sea turtles were cleared for release by our veterinarian and the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC). We are thrilled to see these turtles healthy and back home in the wild!
