Ra, Nuadha, Balmung, Dromi, Anubis.
This wasn't supposed to be a serious run.
Was just doing something I thought was hard because I couldn't sleep. Quite frankly, I've run out of things to do in the game besides max Accel Triggers and make videos (~_~;)
Just by the way, this mission on ver1.11 right now is a secret commodity because they said they're gonna be changing the frequency that Ash Aragami do their devour attacks. That change and the guard speed increase are gonna make this mission very different in the future, I feel.
This run was okay.... I guess? Did OK on 4/5 of the Aragami.
But still, I'll cue my usual nitpicks:
Ra:
I think I did well. But this thing is easy anyway so I'm not worthy of being complimented for doing well on it.
Nuadha:
Why did I devour when he went down? Wasted a great chance for damage. Coulda killed him before he started devouring. Lurn2play BK.
Balmung:
Not bad. GJ on staying crispy when JGing those devours. Need to become more proficient at hitting his boosters with every hit. I did a good job of not making him face a nearby wall for his devour because that makes it a lot harder to guard. (This thing is a lot more dangerous outside of rage mode)
Dromi:
Ugh. Just ugh. Taking damage for no reason. Not devouring properly. Getting swept up in its stupid hitboxes and stupid attack patterns. Camping on the healing fountain like a damn noob then subsequently getting clipped because I got my back to the wall and can't escape its massive hitbox range. Only saving grace was dealing with his devour, but still this was probably one of my worst Dromi runs. I could make the OS excuse of "But he's the same color as the background and I can't recognize his attack patterns that quickly as a result."
But nope, I have no excuse for this. I played badly. I played badly and still t-bagged him like I know wassup.
How dare you, BK. Quit this game you scrub.
Anubis:
Have had far, far better Anubis runs, but that level of poor play can be attributed to Dromi. (OS)
Overall, I played OK.
I personally feel like I'm not at a skill level where I can Perfect Clear this mission AND make it exciting to watch.
I mean, no one wants to see a 20min video of some guy deliberately standing outside of attack areas because he's too scared to take chip damage on a messed up perfect guard or something.
So the official answer is that I suck too much to Perfect Clear this.

Flame Barbz. Hes actually pretty fun to fight.
The Biting Edge is...... hmmm.
Probably the worst weapon for Solo Play.
Its flawed.
Its Burst Arts are unexciting, its damage output is average and you cant regen Stamina while in Spear Mode.
In Solo play, this becomes a problem because you have to spend time in Spear Mode trying to break a part or target legs to earn a Down to deal damage.
Then when the Aragami is downed, you almost always dont have enough ST to deal Spear Mode damage for the entire duration of the down. When that happens to you a few times, the weapon starts to feel like it wasnt planned in conjunction with the standard flow of battle.
Thats not to say its a poorly designed weapon, but it means it requires a conscious effort of meter management and planning to be used proficiently. Sounds like an obvious thing to say, I know, but its really worth emphasizing.
I even think that forcing yourself to be Out Of Breath sometimes might even be a good look. It really depends on the situation and I wouldnt recommend it, but Its the fastest way to recover ST so hey, maybe its worth thinking about (Spoken by an Izanami player that will force himself into Danger Mode just so barrier regens faster)
So, hows the Biting Edge for team play? Better than it is for Solo, I guess.
You benefit from a teammate having the Aragamis attention and you worry a bit less about your ST since you dont have to move around as much. Theres also an Engage that lets you regen ST during attacks which helps.
But youll probably still just frown at me when Im next to you bodying things with a Buster or Heavy Moon using TK Air Moves because the damage difference is enough to make your eyes widen.
Sooooooo what am I trying to say?
Im saying that this weapon might be a Noob Trap. Its harder to use proficiently than most of the weapons and performs lower than the average.
It got a huge buff in 1.10, but its main outlets for damage come from the Spear Mode where you cant devour, block or regen ST. Its flawed by design and thats hard to fix with balance updates. Cant really say anything other than Noob Trap.
But even with everything I said, I like this weapon. Im gonna put an effort into learning how to play Solo with it properly.

Ah yes, The mini boss rush mission. A staple in the GV series and even in a lot of action games. But damn, this one only has 4 bosses and it already feels this long. The Hard Mode HP boost the bosses get is no joke. This mission is all recognizing patterns, being careful and execution, I guess.
To be honest, I usually find these kinds of boss rush missions more fun to just play than to actually try to record watch-worthy runs for. I tried to do some new things on the bosses because this is supposed to be Copen after he has already beaten you once, so fights should feel different to watch... right?
Thats where the being careful aspect starts to become overbearing. Small mistakes or late reads equal death. There is legit no reason to try new stuff or to try to add finesse, because its too easy to lose the run in a stage with 4 back-to-back boss fights. Just play it safe, do what works, and dont take any risks. The kids watching at home wouldnt be able to tell the difference anyway :V
I mean, who wants to run a 10 minute mission on repeat for days because they wanna be fancy?
...Well, I do. But Im a crazy person. So crazy that I recorded this when Im currently too sick to play games. Was fighting back headaches, watery eyes and lapses in concentration trying to bring you a fancy 10min run for you to not watch. Grass.
Sickness inspired sarcasm aside, lets talk about how these fights changed from the normal missions.
Dacite has a roof now. If you dashed out diagonally to evade his grenades attack, GGs son. You can no longer easily evade the grenades and Armageddon Ray by just leaving via the ceiling anymore. I tried to make this fight fancy to look at by countering the grenades with different EX weapons. It ended up making me lose time. Go figure.
Hail is identical to the arctic block. The only soft buff she gets is the background. Im not kidding, the backdrop is not symmetrical making the icicles harder to land between. Also the bright background makes Frigid Stasis bullets harder to see. I tried to make this one fancy by denying her the use of the Frozen Bits. it ended up making the fight easier. Send help.
Ace is also identical. I didnt really use the background to anchor his attacks so the backdrop change didnt really affect me. I tried to make this fight fancy, but I had no exciting ideas that werent incredibly risky. They got me.
This Brigade is actually a new fight. He is the same as Brigade 1 for his first lifebar, then he gets access to 2 new attacks. The Quick Draw shot which is a lot faster than it looks and the Taichou..! flying kick he inherited from Dacite. The fancy-ness is, I guess breaking the grenades with Optic Barrier, but once again it made the fight easier. Continued doing this because I was tired of bouncing into them with the Recoil Dash. I also got really lucky in this fight. I stopped concentrating around lifebar 2 and somehow just didnt get hit. He was generous with the Quick Draws and Taichous and somehow we came out with a W.
His ultimate move also has the unique property of inflicting nervousness. There is so much time that you dont need to rush, and you know this. You can even go like ~15sec without inflicting damage and youll still be good. You know this, and yet the timer and explosions are enough to make you sweat for some reason. Let me just take the SHREDDED finish early because of this slight unjustified panic I am feeling right now.
If you know, you know man.
All in all, the desire to make the boss fights feel different to watch ended up making them all take a bit longer or outright not make them look that much different. The length of this mission already makes me dread doing Boss Rush on Hard Mode. That ones damn near 30min when run properly. Let me out.
Anyways, one more main mission left. Gonna tackle it after Im recovered and work on some of the DLC boss fights on the side.

Elite Solo Class Certification Mission 29
Dromi in Permanent Burst state. Why? I dont know.
I watched a lot of people Perfect solo this mission.
The strat used here in this video is the most common by far. Some people use Hold bullets to lock it in place and others are lucky enough to get Dromi to do the attacks that allow you to safely get in position under his core back to back.
Either way, this is the easiest and most lowest effort way of getting a Perfect Clear on this thing.
Ill hold my usual nitpicks of stunlock runs being unhype to watch and all that and Ill instead tell you what I originally had planned for this video.
I wanted to use the Phantom Accel Trigger to dance through its retarded hitboxes and Perfect Guard everything else. The problem was that damn Dandelion Puff attack.
When it pops that, you just have to respect it no matter what. Even if an opening appears, you cant approach because that attack is too unreliable to Perfect Guard consistently. Best way to deal with it is to get behind something and make Dromi come out to get you.
The other problem was that there are multiple cases where you Perfect Guard something and still get hit by a subsequent part of the same attack you just guarded. That goes again my religion.
If I cant have a +2sec advantage average on attacks I Perfect Guard, Im not having fun and your attacks are too stupid for me to think about logically.
So yeah. I spent a full two days trying to run this Dromi like that and came up with nothing. Dromi, the Aragami who I hate most next to all the Small Type Aragami.
Eventually I just said to myself This is not fun.
Then threw on the Biting Edge and recorded this video and sure enough beat it on the first try.
Go figure. I coulda tried it a few more times to get a better time or something but I dont care about time and Im not recording another video with this mission ever again.
The best part of this mission is that a Dromi in Permanent Burst mission is out of the way for future updates and now we can look forward to missions with all the other Ash Aragami in permanent Burst (?)

Biting Edge is the hardest weapon to use in the game.
It is also the strongest weapon in the game when used effectively.
Now! Go on and immortalize everything I say and quote this description in 4 months after the game has gotten 6 more balance patches and this statement is no longer valid!
All jokes aside, I spent so much time practicing with Edge that it has now become my 3rd most played weapon. Only for me to show up to this video with all these skills in hand, just to stunlock everything in EZPZ fashion. Go figure.
But hey, heres a special tip for actually reading my video descriptions:
During Glaive mode, you can Devour while Diving. You can also cancel the Dive into a normal attack to exit Glaive mode. I really, really wanted to show this in the video but just never got the chance to.
Might be because, this weapon brings me extremely bad luck.
Like, the kinds of abstract and absurd things that were happening in the recording of this video cant be explained without words that arent Thats just bad luck.
But its all good, Ive been a closet Edge Boi for a couple months now.
Maybe one day I can level up and be an Edge Lord like that one guy on YT I got huge respect for.
