For years we've been told that online hate, toxicity, and extremism are primarily male problems.
But what happens when researchers finally examine hostility coming from both sides?
A recent study looked at online communities built around hostility toward the opposite sex and found something that challenges a lot of popular narratives.
The language was similar.
The attitudes were similar.
The stereotypes were similar.
The hostility was similar.
Different targets.
Same behavior.
