In this video we review the new Year Zero Engine game Sleepy Hollow as well as its solo supplement ''The Devil’s Nine Questions'' by Alan Barr. Note! The first 35 minutes of this video includes a mostly non-sequitur review of like five other (non-related) games. You have been warned!
Well, it is another day, and that means another Man Alone video that is at least 40 minutes longer than it needs to be. But maybe it's worth it this time, as we investigate Sleepy Hollow: a new Year Zero Engine game that takes place in a creepy little 19th century town. This folk horror game not only has crunchy leaves and jack-o'-lanterns, it also has both GM-less and HEAD-less options! I don't know about you, but the headless Horseman cartoon that I saw when I was three years old is the reason for almost 90% of the therapy I've had to pay for in my life, so suffice to say I'm a big fan.
Join me as we see if this unique setting puts the Year Zero Engine to good use, and if it maxes out the scare-factor inherent in small town Massachusetts. Does it have enough to take the story beyond the familiar tragedy of Ichabod Crane?Can this cute historical town be as frightening as talking to someone who grew up in South Boston? We will see!

In this series of videos I seek to give a pass through games that I normally would not get and see if maybe I am closing myself off to some really good things. It is hard to convince me otherwise, though it is not popular to say these days that you must open yourself up to other ideas and strange experiences to know what you truly believe in too many things are overdetermined and the lines too clearly drawn it is helpful to step across the lines that we create in our head and see if there is something better on the other side (or at least good enough).
