Setting out to make an "intentionally bad map" is usually met with a chorus groans and, if you're on Doomworld, a locked thread and an irritated moderator or two. But when the act is sanctioned in the form of a community project megawad, you might look to mappers like Dark Pulse to do it with a deft touch.

Field O Screams is the fourteenth map in the Pandora megawad, a project that sets to recreate 90s shovelware maps you'd find stuffed by the thousands into the likes of D!Zone CD-ROMS. This map is quite a bit more clever than it has any right to be, taking a paradoxically calculated touch to making a bad map. If you don't pull your hair out first, you might actually come to admire how Dark Pulse goes about stringing together frustrating encounters built from obnoxious monster placement and stingy resources. Is it still bad even if it's supposed to be ironically bad? Who care. Give it a try anyway.
