As a former SmartThings user I have been where you are. And while I think the Samsung SmartThings is a pretty good platform I ran into some limits of what I could automate. So I decided to move to Home Assistant.
In this video, I show you how you can install Home Assistant on a Raspberry Pi and integrate it with SmartThings so you try out Home Assistant risk-free. You don't even have to migrate your devices or automations. Home Assistant can interact with all of your devices giving you the ultimate Home Assistant test drive. And best of all, it only takes 30 minutes to do.
