There was an idea. To bring shorter videos about topics that people were interested in to see if the videos could be useful. I called that initiative Lab Notes, and this is the first video in that series.
You may be wondering why we needed another "installing MQTT" Video on Youtube, and well I am not sure I have a good answer. All though in the video, I am working on right now, MQTT is going to play a big part. Plus, I want to do more videos on integrating specific, single devices to home Assistant wanted a format for doing something that might only take two or three minutes. So here we are.
In this inaugural edition, we will cover what MQTT is, and how to install it. Because I wanted this to be strictly about installation, we don't get into using MQTT, but again, I have a video coming soon that will require MQTT and as I get into more videos about my specific setup of Home Assistant MQTT is going to come up a lot.
Anyway, enough babbling. Let me know what you think of this format.
