While filming for the PBS special, "Brains on Trial with Alan Alda," Alan visited with Dr. Josh Greene and Dr. Joe Paxton of Harvard University. He participated in the "Will and Grace" experiment.
Alan is asked to predict the outcome of a coin toss. If he gets his prediction right, he wins money. If he is wrong, he gets nothing. Sometimes the researchers will ask for predictions in advance but other times, they will ask for his predictions AFTER he knows the outcome. In other words, he can lie and say he got the prediction right to win the money. (HINT: this experiment is NOT about prediction or coin tosses!).
