Trump orders signs posted outside Smithsonian museum calling exhibits inaccurate.

The President's July 24 executive order directs the National Park Service to install temporary signage on the sidewalks outside the National Museum of American History, telling visitors the exhibits should be redone and pointing them toward "accurate" information the order never identifies.

Because the Smithsonian is independent by charter, no one in the executive branch can order an exhibit changed, so the order also directs three agencies to use every available tool, including funding, to "encourage corrections."
