This week’s Re-Lyte Athlete of the Week, presented by Redmond, goes to true freshman Brynnli Tolbert of BYU women’s soccer.

The 5-foot-4 product of Fort Lauderdale, Florida scored her first collegiate goal in the 60th minute at UCLA, giving the Cougars a 2-1 lead that held up as the game-winning goal. Dave McCann and Blaine Fowler note that head coach Jen Rockwood had specifically flagged this freshman class as one to watch just a week earlier — and Tolbert delivered immediately, helping BYU beat UCLA for the third straight year (fourth in the last five meetings) and extending the program's season-opening win streak to nine straight years.
