National Weather Service Meteorologist in Charge Brandon Aydlett speaks with Matsuki Hirayama about the latest on Tropical Storm Saudel. As of 2pm Thursday, Aydlett says the projection has slightly decreased to a category 2 to 3 typhoon passing through the far Northern Mariana Islands by Saturday night into Sunday morning.

Saudel is still a 40MPH tropical storm, now moving northwest at 17 mph.

A typhoon watch was issued for the three northern islands of Pagan, Alamagan and Agrihan as of 12pm Thursday.

The closest point of approach for Guam is forecasted on Friday evening after sunset.
